Adelaide-based manufacturer, REDARC Electronics has added a new Dual Input 40 amp In-vehicle Battery Charger to their range of award-winning Smart Start BCDC In-vehicle Battery Chargers.
Late last year REDARC released the next generation BCDC1225D which has proven very popular among installers and end-users. The new BCDC1225D and now the NEW BCDC1240D completes the dual input range and continues to set the industry standard for DC to DC battery chargers.
REDARC’s Managing Director, Mr Anthony Kittel, said, “The 1225D has been in the market for a few months now and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Being able to add the 40-amp charger to the line-up will enable us to extend our product offering further and allow users to charge higher capacity batteries or multiple battery banks.”
The new 40 amp BCDC and the 25 amp BCDC feature separate vehicle DC and solar inputs, simplifying installation. The units will charge from both solar and the alternator simultaneously and with inbuilt ‘Green Power Priority’, the battery charger will automatically select solar charge first, taking the load off the vehicle’s alternator.
Both 25 and 40 amp models can be used for 12 or 24-volt vehicle systems with either standard or variable voltage/smart alternators meaning installers will only need to stock the one variant.
Another new feature of the new Dual Input BCDC In-Vehicle battery chargers is the addition of a charging profile for Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries (LiFePO4) which are becoming increasingly popular for recreational and industrial applications. The Dual Input range will continue to charge all types of common batteries including AGM, GEL, standard lead acid and calcium.
Each In-vehicle Battery Charger has been independently tested to ensure battery life is maximised and that the battery is charged to 100%.
