REDARC supports community fundraiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

REDARC is pleased to support the 9th annual Groovy Memorial Weekend by donating products for auction which will help raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Each year enthusiastic members of the online forum Travellers Chat, have been gathering together for the Groovy Memorial Weekend in honour of Greg ‘Groovy’ Jollife who was a founding member of the popular online Caravaners Forum.  The group is proud to have broken their fundraising record each year since the Weekend was established in 2013.

Gerry Paay from Travellers Chat said, ‘Every year we manage to fill the caravan park with members from online camping and travel forums and we also involve the locals. This year we are looking forward to a good crowd and hope to beat last year’s record donation amount.’

The RFDS has been saving lives in rural and remote Australia for 90 years. Today they care for more than 300,000 Australians each year. Funds raised go towards helping them to replace intensive care units which can cost the RFDS more than $7m a year.

Anthony said, ‘It’s great that our REDARC Solar Blankets will be auctioned off at the Groovy Memorial Weekend to support such a worthy cause and give keen travellers who place a winning bid, a product that will enhance their camping experience.’

Travellers Chat are hosting the Groovy Memorial Weekend at Crystal Brook Caravan Park (189ks from Adelaide) from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th May 2019, with the auction taking place on Saturday.  You can catch up with the crew by joining their Travellers Chat forum.
